Frequently asked questions
- Every poem costs 1 credit. You start with 5 free credits when you sign up. Subscribers get 100 credits per month that reset each month. You can also buy a 100-credit pack when your credits run out — purchased credits never expire.
- You can still view and share all your existing poems and photos. You just won’t be able to generate new ones until you subscribe or buy more credits.
- Yes. You can edit the title, caption, and poem text on any card. Note that saving your edits will replace the original AI-generated version.
- Each photo gets three poem styles: Haiku, Couplet, and Free Verse. You can swipe between them on any card.
- Everything is stored locally on your device and automatically synced across your Apple devices through iCloud. Your data stays in your personal iCloud account. Nothing is stored on third-party servers.
- Poma uses Claude by Anthropic to turn your photos into poetry. When you generate a poem, your photo is sent directly to the AI. The developer never sees, stores, or has access to your photos at any point. Once the poem is generated, the photo is not kept on any server. Everything stays between you, your device, and your iCloud.
- You can browse and share your existing collection offline. Generating new poems requires an internet connection.
- Your poems and photos are backed up in iCloud, so they’ll restore when you reinstall and sign in with the same Apple ID. Your credit balance is also tied to your account and will come back.
- Poma uses Sign in with Apple for your account. Apple gives the app a unique identifier—your real email is never shared unless you choose to. This account manages your credits and subscription.
- Yes. You can share to Instagram, save to your photo library, or use the share sheet to send them anywhere.
- Almost anything. People, landscapes, objects, food, pets. The AI finds something to say about even the most ordinary subjects. The only exception is nudity or graphic violence, which the app will decline.
- Go to Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions on your device. You’ll keep your remaining credits until the end of the billing period.
